The Little River Railroad & Lumber Company Museum
Who Are We?
The Little River Railroad and Lumber Company is a non-profit corporation founded in 1982 to preserve the heritage of the Little River Lumber Company and the Little River Railroad. We operate a museum in Townsend, Tennessee, collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the history of these companies, and of the people in this region.
Admission is FREE donations appreciated.
April: Weekends Only – Saturday 10-5, Sunday 1-5
May-Oct open Daily Weekdays & Saturday 10-5, Sunday 1-5
November: Weekends Only – Saturday 10-5, Sunday 1-5
December through March: Closed Off-Season. Groups by appointment only (email or call) The grounds and outdoor exhibits are always available.

Wonderful roadside gem! You will feel like a kid again walking around these old engines. Museum is staffed with knowledgeable local historians. So much local history in one small spot! A must see when visiting the Smokies and surrounding areas.
