The Black Satchel was chosen as the name for our newsletter, and has become a nickname for the group. In the southern Appalachians, a Black Satchel was a Class A Climax steam locomotive, which was so easily picked up and moved to the next job by a logging company.

We will meet from 10 to 12 am at the Mountain View Grill, next door to the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum, and have our lunch there.   After lunch we will move across the street to the Conference Center at the Highland Manor Inn, where we will have plenty of room and facilities for presentations.
